Griffith Roberts
« on: Thursday 27 October 22 12:50 BST (UK) »
I know this a longshot, but... Trying to trace a Griffith Roberts, former RN officer invalided out of service after being traumatised in Gallipoli campaign in First World War. He died late 1940s or early 1950s.  His last known address was 149 Grove Street, Liverpool.

Here's hoping.
Roberts, Caernarfon. Thomas, Caernarfon. Kite, Kent.

He's on the 1921 Census (cannot reveal details) but this is probably the death registration -

Griffith M T Roberts, age 65, Mar Qtr 1949, Liverpool South.

He also appears on the 1939 Register but, again, can't give his details. Looking at the 1901 census, this looks like his birth:-

His father, John Henry Roberts, was at No. 149 when he died July 1924. The Liverpool Echo, 31 July 1924, carries a glowing tribute to his musical prowess.

There is a marriage of a John Henry Roberts to Annie Williams in Bangor District in 1878, but it was a civil ceremony.

Some trees on Ancestry have John's wife as Hughes, but it is definitely Williams

E.G. - ROBERTS, WILLIAM  STERNDALE BENNETT mmn WILLIAMS

They also have a photograph of John and, I assume, his wife.

Have been checking John Henry Roberts under his bardic name "Pencerdd Gwynedd".

His entry under "Y Bywgraffiadur Gymreig" records his wife as Annie Williams.
