FindMyPast renewal
« on: Thursday 27 October 22 12:07 BST (UK) »
I've been a Findmypast subscriber for years, and it always renews on the expiry date (28 Nov) with the 20% loyalty discount.  Today (27 Oct) I received an email from them which says "Come back to Findmypast with 20% off when you resubscribe. You’ll need to be quick, this short-lived offer ends on Saturday 29 October."  I have written to them for clarification.

I think that they have just sent the same message to everyone.  My subscription ends on 3 September 2023 and yet I, too, received that offer.  :)

It gave me a fright as I'd checked my sub last night (to reply to ankerdine's request) and all looked fine. I've been out all morning and came back to that message.

I think they need to get their filters  sorted.  Could it be the change from Pro to Premium that's got them confused?

Could be  :-\

As well as the filters, perhaps they need to get their spellcheck sorted as well  :)

I thought the 'loyalty' discount was 15% ?

and have just checked and I seem to be correct. This 'offer' does not apply to the new, Premium sub (which includes the 1921 census), which is the one I have.
If I were a Pro or Plus subscriber and had decided to stick with that, I'd be severely peeved that I would be paying more than a brand new customer as that doesn't seem to equate to 'rewarding loyalty'.

Yes, my mistake, the loyalty discount is 15%.

I just got a reply from Findmypast which says "I am sorry for the confusion this email was sent in error, it was not intended for Premium subscribers I am afraid.

You will renew as normal with the 15% loyalty discount."
