1871 census For Nichols
« on: Tuesday 11 October 22 15:25 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I'm trying to establish if William Nichols bc1804, Hammersmith, a basketmaker or similar, is on the 1871 census. His wife is Elizabeth, not sure of her c birth year, unfortunately. He likely wouldn't have moved far from his birth place. ( although I have been proved wrong on other cases....)

I think he didn't make the 1881 census, so the 1871 would be a help.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Provide the 1851 & 1861 so we may search on his progeny too.

Thanks - I have previous census, unfortunately he didn't have any children.

That's him, thank you, I appreciate that!

At least he is alive in 1871, I need to have a look at deaths now, and would like to see if he left a will...

Thanks again for a quick find!

And Bradmore Grove, hopefully I can find where that is.

You mention that you have his previous census so I guess you know about his previous wife being Maria?

Thanks Colin, I do know about the 1851. I've never found a suitable marriage to a Maria, and on his marriage to Elizabeth he states bachelor.

I have wondered if Maria and Elizabeth are the same person??

Don't forget the route is on page 1 of the census.

I'm thinking it's north of King Street. a bit east of Ravenscourt Park

Thanks for the reminder. I'm not subscribed at the moment, so can't see full details, but I've made a note for next time I subscribe.
