Edit: Disregard everything from here to the next dashed line. see next post.
The only William Todd I found in Ontario in 1851 is this one:
1851 Cartwright, Durham Co, Ontario
Henry Todd, 36, born Ireland
Mary, 30, born Canada
Jacob W, 8, born Canada
Samuel, 7, born Canada
William H, 5, born Canada
Ann, 2, born Canada
All Presbyterian Est.

1861 Cavan, Durham Co, Ontario
Joseph Kelly, farmer, 31, born Ireland
Thomas Kelly, 78, born Ireland
Elizabeth Kelly, 76, born Ireland
William Todd, laborer, 15, born Upper Canada
all Presbyterian
http://central.bac-lac.gc.ca/.item/?app=Census1861&op=img&id=4107391_00215or this one:
1871 Rawdon, Hastings North, Ontario
Ralph Lavis, 70, born in England, farmer, C of England
Mary Lavis, 77, born in England, C of England
William Todd, 25, born Ontario, servant, Wesleyan Methodist
Elizabeth Todd, 14, born Ontario, servant, Wesleyan Methodist, going to school
https://central.bac-lac.gc.ca/.item/?app=Census1871&op=img&id=4396349_00460There weren't that many William Todds in Ontario at the time. I thought there would be more. And I didn't find an Elizabeth Todd in 1861. I thought it was interesting that the difference in age between William and Elizabeth on the 1871 census was the same as the difference in age for the two young people you are looking for.
--------------
Can you post a little more of what you know about the Rollins? Were they from the same part of Ontario
as those censuses I found? Would Mary Todd, 30, on the 1851 census fit into their family?
But there is a problem with that theory - I doubt the Rollins parents would have named a daughter Mary and another one Mary Jane. It happens, but not often.
