I did notice on FreeREG a James/Mary Pick** bapt children in Shacklestone in a similar time frame.

1841 Census has him born c 1801 but he died before 1851 Census.

PICKERING, JAMES age 47
GRO Reference: 1845  D Quarter in MARKET BOSWORTH  Volume 15  Page 117
(c 1798)

Possible Brother for William?

Also on 1841 Census page for James and family are some Jaques

Thank you so much Annie, Trish and David.

Which site did you get the info from Annie, and where did you see copy of Hannah's marriage certificate?

I use Ancestry and Familysearch, but am wondering which other sites I should be looking at.

Lots for me to go now, thank you again

Kind regards
Sandra

Findmypast has all of the details and is probably the best site for Leicestershire.

The only baptism I can find for a William Pickering, b 1805-1809 in the Hugglescote area, was baptised in Packington (six miles away) in 1815, although it gives his birth as 1809. Also siblings John, b 1811, and Ann on the same day, children of William and Ellen.

The only marriage that fits was on 29th December 1800 to an Eleanor Betteridge in Measham. She was probably baptised on 23rd December 1782, daughter of William and Sarah. There was another in 1767, also to William and Sarah, but she died in 1777.

There are other children, but all in Packington.
