I am looking for information on a Charles Aloysius McCoy lived in 16 Harford Street Liverpool and then Warrington I believe, any information is appreciated, I know he passed away in 1978 but I am wondering did he originally come from Ireland.

This was confusing. It implies you did not know his origins/family etc. Hence, all the searching to help you.
I think William was a dealer /merchant.

Apologies if I mislead anyone, I have been searching for this person a long time as he was my grandfather's cousin, I knew the details of his early life but lost track of him until a few days ago which I found by accident that he worked on ships from Liverpool.
Hence why I only asked about him on the Lancashire forum and not the Irish one as I have asked there previously re- this person. I was trying to find out what he did with his life in Liverpool, and I know he had a hard time as a young boy, so once again apologies if I wasted anyone's time on here as that was not the intention. Yes his father was also Charles Mc Coy born in 1866 Mill St Belfast his father William was a publican I believe

I found the birth as 1868, I think.

As a matter of interest, what happened to Charles and Ann? I spent a while trying to find them but couldn’t.
Did they emigrate?

Charles Sr married Anne in Belfast March 1892, unfortunately he left her and she moved back to Dundalk to have Charles Jr, she passed away and young Charlie was reared by his mother's family, until a fateful day in Dundalk when the clergy sent him of to Artane for 6 years for keeping bad company, no crime just being in bad company which I felt was so harsh hence why I have always wondered about him and hoped that he did ok for himself
