Is there a father’s name or place of birth on his other records?

His father William died 1892

It looks as though Charles snr and John were brothers - so John was uncle to Charles Aloysius.

Is there a father’s name or place of birth on his other records?

Yes his father was also Charles Mc Coy born in 1866 Mill St Belfast his father William was a publican I believe

Yes that is correct however his father left him at birth, his mother's folk reared Charles Jr.

But i would never presume unless actual evidence exists that his Father abandoned him just because he is with relatives 1901 Census.
