There is also an entry for him as a Prisoner of War in 1917 - relative noted as John McCoy, 23 College Gardens, Belfast.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

The prisoner of war listing says that Charles and others were aboard SS Brecknockshire - Mr Google has lots of information about the sinking in 1917.
