The 1978 death says born 1904.

Did he have brothers and sisters, because there is a family 1911 all born Lancashire

If you have names it will confirm I have the correct family

FindMyPast has a copy of his Merchant Seaman's record from 1919 - date of birth given as 10 June 1892, Dundalk, Ireland.  Nationality given as British, with father also British.  There is also a photograph of him.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
