Myheritage chromosome browser
« on: Thursday 08 September 22 10:26 BST (UK) »
Hello, I have paid the one-off fee for the chromosome browser a while back.
Note I have recently added and manage my brothers account and want to use the browser to compare his matches (one-to-one)
However looks like I now have to pay another one-off fee for the privilege. Is this correct?

I am not quite with you, My Heritage has a One to Many chromosone browser.

You can select any person whose account you manage and compare them to any other matches.

In the DNA Tools > chromosone browser where you see yourself click on the Compare above your name and select who you want as the base person to compare the others against

Are you saying that you paid the fee to unlock the additional features (such as the chromosome browser) on your account?

Now you want to see your brother’s matches on the chromosome browser?

Yes, I think you need to pay the same fee to unlock the features on your brother’s account as well.

Yes as Ruskie suggests the Unlocking fee must apply to each kit. If you uploaded 20 sets of data from another company you cannot really expect My Heritage to unlock them all for free.

They do occasionally have Sales for a number of kits transferred during the Sale period. Thus,  "Right now, and through February 28th, you can transfer your DNA for free AND the $29 unlock fee is forever waived for the kits you transfer during this timeframe" was a promotion they did in Feb 21-28, 2021 (Roberta Estes DNAXplained blog accessed 08/09/2022)

Of course, if you have a subscription with My Heritage then you have access to all the tools. I have a Complete subscription and can use all the tools on all my DNA profiles.

Thanks for the responses, looks like I’ll need to loosen the purse strings…
