Hallam Family
« on: Saturday 03 September 22 21:41 BST (UK) »
My Great Grandfather was Walter Hallam.  Born in Yoxall in 1868, died in Hucknall in 1946.
Any information about his past, or life story would be appreciated.

I have asked the moderator to move your post to the Staffordshire board.

Have you looked for him on the censuses from 1871 - 1921?  Also the 1939 register

There's an October 1887 militia attestation for him. Age 19 years 8 months, born Yoxal, a miner. He attended the annual training 1888-1891. 4th Battalion, Derbyshire Regiment.

There's an address for him in Hankin Street, Hucknall Torkard.

I don't have access to Ancestry anymore unless I go to the public library. My interest is in the Peak District (and Stockport) Hallams. Steven Hallam has a very good website for the family...
