I’ve been trying to find the marriage of Mary Jane Obryan and Thomas Cooper

What I do know,is from the 1901 census,when they were all in kemberton,Shropshire.

I’m just questing they probably married around 1891,going by Mary’s age.

Have you found Thomas Cooper on a census before 1901?

Hi everyone,
Just an update here......I was always told that my g-nan,Mary Jane O'bryan/Bryan, was born in Wexford, but someone has added Mary Bryan to our ancestry records, born 16th Feb 1871 in Wicklow, with parents John Bryan & Jane Byrne.
This is interesting as Mary J gives her surname on the two children born in Ireland, as Bryan or Byrne.
Still trying to find Marys marriage to Thomas Cooper though.

Just to reinforce what Haywood is asking.
Military records listed wives and children. My understanding is that proof was required (?).
From comments here it appears that this Thomas Cooper's service records are extant. It would seem to me that if OP is serious, then accessing those records - which are on Ancestry, and probably FindMyPast - is essential.

It is also my understanding that overseas military BMD registrations sent to the English GRO are available on FindMyPast. Have these been checked?

Finally, were the birth registrations of the children born in England ever checked for what name the mother used? That was another good suggestion from 3 years ago.

Looks to me like a clerical error on her surname - letters transposed.
