Manchester Cathedral Marriage
« on: Tuesday 30 August 22 13:02 BST (UK) »
Hi,
There is a marriage for a Maurice Smith to Ellen Kennedy 14th Oct 1861 at Manchester Cathedral.   I would very much appreciate a look up in the parish register.  Maurice originated from Ireland and found on the 61 cen and after in  Glasgow.  He was imprisoned for bigamy and this is the name and date stated for the first marriage.   Any info would really help with my brick wall.

Julie

To add to Carole's answer - Ellen was aged 23 and a spinster.  Both made their mark.

Where lived George and Lydia Pattison in the 1861 census. Isabella Taylor, 19, was lodging with them.
Looks like George was the witness.

Thanks all.   Now to try and find the father James and Ellen.   At least its the same name on both marriages but later he is a brickmaker.
