Roger Griffiths (Seaweed)
« on: Monday 29 August 22 11:47 BST (UK) »
I am very sad to inform you that our member Roger Griffiths aka (seaweed) passed away on 10 August. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.
He was a very knowledgeable and humble man whom I had the privilege to call my friend.
I know he has helped so many on here with maritime related, especially, Merchant Navy research and he will be very much missed.
Roger was involved in all kinds of research work both on and offline. I remember working with him and a very small team in researching Reginald Earnshaw – the youngest service casualty of WW2 where his knowledge was invaluable.
Roger – my friend – I wish you fair winds and a following sea and I will see you one day in Fiddler’s Green. RIP.

Hugh

That's very sad news indeed :(

Seaweed was very knowledgeable, and I enjoyed reading his contributions.

How sad.

I always made a point of reading his postings, as KG has said, he was so knowledgeable.

A great loss to Rootschat.
