WW1 Lieutenant Joseph B Parke 18th RIR

Hi i am looking any info on this and also his son same name who died in 1941 from wounds at Dunkirk the wife, mother was living in Groomsport at The Point in 1941

With regard to the son his record is with the MOD & can be applied for
however most will be pre-war service as Dunkirk was the 1st. engagement of WW2.
There is some info on JB Parke on the GWF stating he was also in the 1st. & 2nd. Btn's RIR
& also attached to the Ministry of Labour.
There's no evidence he went overseas.
His record is at TNA & can be ordered from there but apparently there's not much left of it.
Added:
The son isn't listed on the CWGC site so what was his Regt.
There are online trees that have him dying in the 70's.

Hi i found out the father died in 1924 i do not know what reg the son was in  thanks for your reply

There is a medal card for the father, but in the name J Beatty Parke.

Is it possible he became a prisoner of war and later died as a result of his wounds? If so there are a number of soldiers reported missing in 1940 with the name J Parke. The one who stands out (because of his regiment) is listed as a prisoner of war: 7014029 Rfm J Parke 2nd battalion Royal Ulster Rifles, first reported as missing in casualty list 254 (WO 417/14). This particular soldier was held in STALAG 3A Luckenwalde. There is no record of his death in the camp.
There is also a Sergeant J Parke Irish Guards listed as a POW in 1940.

hI Sorry i misread the small print in newspaper it said son of Joseph NOT son Joseph  there was another son John Parke but cannot find anything about his death 1941   died from wounds at Dunkirk maybe i need to go to Specsavers

Dunkirk so May/June 1940, there is this, not sure if your man.
Belfast telegraph 27th June 1940

"Rifleman posted as missing"
Parents residence 110 Saunders Street, Belfast
John Parke Royal Ulster Rifles listed as missing, it mentions brother John and Thomas Parke are serving in the army.
There is a small photo of him.

Hi CATH151   In 1941 John Parke's mother was living at 6 The Point Groomsport and the father had died in 1924  do not think your john is the same one but thanks for checking
