I don't have much to add I'm afraid, other then to add on to what others have already said.
It is indeed G(eorge) Hammond Etherton, brother of (Col.) P.T. Etherton (involved in the first Everest Flight) - I have some of P.T.'s books.
George and Mona had 2 children - John (survived by his widow) and (Maj.) Robert Roy (RR) Etherton - my Grandfather. Also a solicitor.
The family lived in Rowlands Castle, and later at Manor Steps in Ascot.
