Charlotte (Dalziel) McKay died just after the 1851 census, where she is found living in Troqueer with her son William Cuthbert MaKay 1820-1898. So this is a brother to your Mary.

The 1851 census shows Charlotte aged 73, born about 1778 in Kelton, Kircudbrightshire
She married John McKay in Dumfries on 21 Nov 1802
I could find no baptism records for Charlotte DALZIEL in Kelton (or anywhere in the county), nor a possible marriage for parents.
