Bells from Glenavy Parish, County Antrim, Ireland
« on: Monday 04 July 22 00:49 BST (UK) »
I would love to hear from you if you have connections to any Bells from Glenavy, County Antrim, Ireland (especially from Ballyvorally Townland). Clements Bell was born there in 1793 with John Bell named as his father. I would like to know John's wife's name and any other children born to them.

Thank you for your time!
Karen

Hi Karen,
My gt.gt.gt.grandfather Abraham Bell (1817-1865) married Ellen Lonsdale. I believe he lived in Ballyvollen/Landgarve.
His son my gt.gt.grandfather Charles Bell (1850?-1922) married Alice Jane Lavery  in St.Aidan’s, Glenavy 1870.
Charles and Alice had a son Abraham (1870) born in Ballycessy and William James
(1872) born in Aughnamillan, Killead.  The family then relocated to Belfast where a further 6 children were born.
Charles and Alice are buried in St.Aidan’s, Glenavy as are some of their family. Unfortunately, I don’t think their are any burial records for the church.

Regards,
Geraldine

Thanks to all of you who responded to my request for information. The John Bell that was referenced could possibly be a brother to my ancestor, Clements Bell. As of now, I don't have evidence that they are related, but there is a good chance they are. I will continue to do research!
