She should show on the censuses in spite of being a resident/patient in hospital/institution. Not sure why she doesn't really.
In some census records the names of patients in hospitals and institutions were not listed in full, but as initials. It might be worth looking for a record of E L (or even L L) in the appropriate institution in 1911.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Forfarian I have tried everything to find her on this census to no avail I know she was at Gartloch hospital until 1912 when she was transferred to Haddington hospital so I have all but given up 😕 many thanks for your help!
