Will double check on the other things you’ve posted when I start my research again in the morning

Who is Sarah Coope, the marriage witness?

Possible :-\
Baptism at Lambourne, Essex, 5 Jan 1794

Marriage, 13 Sep 1793, Navestock

Henry was a minor. Residence for both Chadwell.

Thank you for this, do you mean the baptism for William? When I click the link it takes me to the marriage record?
Looking at the existing trees on ancestry where Henry and Mary are named as William's parents.. the baptism records attached are completely out date wise.. so I don't think the info is correct.
The Wanstead baptism fits as he married in Wanstead and both are spelled Coope I believe.. but now looking at the Woodford baptism I don't know if that could also be a possibility?
That would mean his parents were Benjamin and Dorothy??
So confused ???

Hi
Yes, those two are the marriage in 1818, the parish register and the copy made of it later and sent to the Bishop.
Henry and Mary are appealing as William's parents, but no baptism has been found :(
He could come in between the baptisms of Sarah and Henry, so around 1796. Kind of fits with his age on death.
But no proof so far.

I haven't looked into the Wanstead one yet.

Has William been found in 1861?

Ahh I see, yes Henry and Mary would certainly fit especially when you consider the names of their other children (thank you for that info Annette) but reluctant to put this as fact unless I can prove it, especially as I'm doing this tree for someone else!
And no I couldn't find William in 1861, I was hoping he would turn up as I researched the rest of the Cope line as they all seem to live with and near eachother

That's the one! I found the transcript on FindMyPast. Yes I'm wondering if this is the correct record as it fits with the surname spelling and area. The lady I am doing this for was very interested to know if the surname was originally Coope and changed to Cope.
Of course I'm not entirely sure this is the right baptism?

I think the problem is his age, as you mentioned. There is a birth date given. He would have been only fifteen when he married.
