The full transcription reveals all

Thos Wiggan yeo[man] of Catton, p[arish] of Allendale
Eliz. Forrester sp[inster] of Ardley
m[arrie]d at Hexham.
I suspect that when NDFHS did their transcriptions, which are now on FindMyPast they used standardised abbreviations for the parishes. I checked a few other abbreviations in the transcriptions which turn out to be
HUN - Hunstanworth
SIM - Simonburn
SLA - Slaley
As you say, Ardley was a small settlement in 'The Shire' which was at that time still part of the parish of Hexham, but was served by St Helens Whitley Chapel, which was a Chapel of Ease to Hexham Abbey.
