Edward's parents look to be James & Elizabeth Weller.  He was baptised at Hollington in 1798.

Oh thanks, I can see another Edward and Elizabeth as possible parents, also nearby. It’s so hard to tell!

There is such a wide Weller family in this area at the time. I was holding out hopes I’ll link in with one of the other larger trees already researched and find some relatives.

Thanks for the reply

Edward states he was born circa 1801 Hollington on 1851 census - he died Dec.qtr.1859 when his age given as 62 (born ca.1797) so it seems pretty certain he is the Edward baptised at Hollington, 28/1/1798, son of James and Elizabeth (already mentioned).

James bc.1762 buried 7/4/1843 Hollington
Elizabeth bc.1766 buried 3/3/1860 Hollington

James Weller married Elizabeth Heselden 9/4/1787 Udimore, Sussex - a number of baptisms of children in different places i.e. Rye, Brede, Fairlight, Guestling and Hollington.

According to 1851 census Elizabeth Weller born Brede, Sussex - baptised as Betty Heselden 19/3/1766 Brede, dau. of Thomas and Elizabeth (mother nee Standen - they married 29/6/1753 Brede).
