Thanks Osprey very interesting that she could be illegitimate. Possibly where the Hicks comes from?

Think you need to get that marriage cert to be sure. There doesn't seem to be another candidate for Joe Hicks on the 1921 census in Redruth.

The family is Hicks on the 1921 census.

I'm not finding Cinderella Hughes in later records so perhaps that is actually Janet by another name?
