To start, suggest you google "william le lacheur" - his oldest sister Marie 8 Jan 1797 - 14/8/1870 (Paralysis) (dau of Jean 30 Sep 1774 - 22 Dec 1840 m 9 Jan 1797 Marie Sarah ALLEZ 1 Feb 1775 - Jan 1822) m 3 May 1818 Pierre GUILBERT 13 Apr 1794 - 9 Dec 1874 and their children were Marie 23 Sep 1818 - 28 Aug 1821 (Fever) Pierre 4 Feb 1821 Margueritte 28 Jun 1823 m 21 Oct 1855 Edouard 7 Jan 1828 - 5 Oct 1870 (Tuberculosis) Loise 8 Jun 1830 - 15 Sep 1908 (Syncope) Henriette 17 Jan 1833 - 14 Mar 1907 (Nephritis) Alfred 30 Apr 1835 m 1 Sep 1863 Charlotte Allez 17 Jan 1838 m 22 Dec 1865 Jean 11 Jan 1840 (who being the youngest would not have inherited); and Louisa and Harriet were live in servants hence not included with their family in the 1851 census.
Eliza Keys 1850 - 16 Jun 1851 was the "enfant naturelle" of Margaret.
Peter BREHAUT and Charlotte also had a son Walter Peter b 15 Oct 1871.
Alfred and Caroline GALLIENNE had 6 children, the youngest Amy Louisa b 23 Feb 1873.
Margaret migrated to South Aust on the Emigrant leaving Southampton 7 Jul 1854 and arriving Pt Adelaide 17 Oct and Louisa and Harriet left Sou 17 Jun 1854 on the Pestonjee Bomanjee arriving Pt Adelaide 8 Oct.
Margaret m Henry Samuel GOODRICK (38) Pt Adelaide witnessed by Harriet GILBERT.  No other record of any GOODRICK can be found anywhere in Aust excepta Thesia Emelia fa Henry and mo Margaret Ann (UNKNOWN) d 1857 (1) in Tasmania;  check if went to NZ to join other relatives.
I can find no record in SA of Harriet m Philip Frederick MANUEL d 16 Aug 1905 (71) Queenstown or b of their son Phillip d 4 Aug 1856 (8M Effusion of the Brain) but they had 7 more children in the Pt Adelaide area before she also d Queenstown, and adjacent suburb.
I can also find no record of gg mo Louisa's m Robert BROWN d 26 Jul 1893 (72) or b of some of their children but her Dth Cert says she had 6 children.  Any info re the family, including Robert BROWN would be greatly appreciated.
This is a "brief" thambnail outline of the GUILBERT &c family.
Presumably the entry dated 22 Apr 06 is the latest on this Subject ?
I would dearly love to have a copy of any "old" letters and correspondence and anything else corresponding to the era and persons eg, in particular that from Amy.
Thank you for your attention.

Tait     -   Maybole 1858

Just found this post involving Margaret Gilbert who married Henry Samuel Goodrick at St. Paul's Port Adelaide in South Australia on 21 October 1855. He described himself as a bachelor but in fact he was a widower with three surviving children still in King's Lynn in a workhouse after his wife Elizabeth died in 1847 of consumption along with three of their other children, and he was sentenced to transportation for stealing coal in 1850, arriving on the Pyrenees in Perth Western Australia as a Ticket of Leave man in 1953, thence to South Australia as an Expiree.  Margaret died two months after the marriage aged 31 and was buried 14th December 1855 at the Alberton Cemetery Port Adelaide.  Cause of death not noted in the burial records, and there is no record of the death in the Registry, although it is noted in The Biographical Index of South Australians 1836 to 1855.  Henry Samuel Goodrick remarried in Victoria in 1858 to Maria Catherine Hald but had changed his surname to Gathergood by then and all his descendants after that were Gathergoods.  The Thesia Goodrick had a mother whose surname was not Gilbert.  The cemetery records have no mention of a child or any other Goodricks.  Hope this gets to you.  Regards, Kathy Schneider, descendant of Henry Samuel Gathergood (Goodrick).
