Hi Ian,
I believe Rebecca left Hull and ended up in Wick, Caithness with my grandfather's father William McPhee. They had at least one child, William born 1907 who was sent to Canada aged 9 when Rebecca died.
William returned to the UK and eventually Scunthorpe until his death in 1988.
I was raised in Caithness and somehow ended up living in Scunthorpe, standing in a pub with a  complete stranger chatting about Caithness and it's William's grandson.
There are a number of 'us' in Scunthorpe.
