The artist automatically came to mind when I saw the surname.

"Wright of Derby" is enough description to evoke the master of lighting effects in art.

He depicted all sorts of scientific and industrial subjects, with the lighting giving very dramatic effects.
Looking at ALSTON in south Ribble area, ALSTEAD and DONBAVAND/DUNBABIN etc. everywhere, HOWCROFT and MARSH in Bolton and Westhoughton, PICKERING in the Whitehaven area.

The two dates refer to the Julian (old style) and Gregorian (new style) calendars.
