Could also be Margaret Solomon? And the other looks like James.

James O'Brien is 1st one. Was hoping that they would be brothers or sisters.

Updating the search for my ancestors, I did find a bit more information regarding the Knarsborough family probably not being the one because they are missing a John at the appropriate period, but I did come up with a possible family match in the household of Batty Coleman in Sligo from the 1911 Irish census.
I also found that John and Mary Ann had an infant daughter named Margaret Dixon Coleman, born 19 jan 1870, Haverton Hill, Billingham. Registered by Mary Ann Coleman. John is a general labourer.

A death certificate from 13 Feb 1870 lists cause of death as premature birth. The informant is John Coleman present at the death.
I have looked into the possibilities as to what  they were doing there and it seemed a hive of industry in 1870 with possibilities of all sorts of work for a general labourer. I have been past Haverton Hill recently and it seems mainly to be the destination for a Teeside recycling plant.

So, was the Christian name and Surname of John's mother ever determined? Not clear to me. Would be a big help.

Should have been able to determine from birth registrations of Michael's children born in England.

Knocknahur townland is in the parish of St. John's Sligo, where the parish registers are extant from 1831. I see quite a few Coleman baptisms in the 1830s and 40s, but none with father Michael.

Thanks for your input.
I don’t have any evidence for Johns mother’s maiden name.
I was looking at the Coleman family which settled in Knaresborough and the mother was Anna Kelly. But I discounted that family as I can’t find a John in the correct period. I made contact with a member of the knaresborough family and they did not know about my John.
I was told by my ancestor that my branch of the family were tinkers.
I have found some more clues:

Name   John Coleman
Baptism Age   0
Event Type   Baptism
Birth Date   1845
Baptism Date   20 May 1845
Baptism Place   Lorrha and Dorrha, Tipperary, Ireland
Parish Variants   Doorha, Dorrha, Durrow, Lorha, Lorha and Durrow, Lorrha and Doorha
Diocese   Killaloe
Father
Michael Coleman
Mother
Bridget Hegarty

How ever I do have confirmation of the 1911census  tynemouth workhouse where John Coleman is supposed to be from knocknahur Sligo. It fits with my other verified facts.

If I could even get a census of Ireland copy which had both John and Michael in then that would help. According to census records John was born 1845.
