Cancel your subscription prior to the end date otherwise ancestry will automatically renew.
Your subscription is still active until that date.
Once your subscription date has expired, try using the link to get the half price offer on the telegraph link.

The telegraph link was first given last Friday 11 th November - reply 6.  This is the first confirmation that this link has worked. Yipee.

Do try this  -

Update on this thread - reply 93

https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=832955.msg7381515

People are being offered 50% off the Worldwide subscription if they call Ancestry Support and ask if there are any deals as they have been a long standing member and can’t afford full price. That is a good deal as it means you get Worldwide for about the same amount you’d pay for the basic package. If the person you speak to can’t help, wait a day or so and try again and hope you get someone different!

Let us know if it works for you.

I cancelled the auto renew two weeks prior to the renewal date.

The day before renewal was due I sync’d the Ancestry trees with there corresponding Roots Magic Tree and created and downloaded Gedcom files for each Ancestry tree.

I did not log in for two days then used one of the links to get Worldwide for £89.99.

Tried the link that I had recently and it only gave a reduced price for six months @ £16.99 a month.

Unfortunately the original offer we have used for 6 years or so was removed about the 1 st November.  The suggestion above is to ring ancestry support to get the half price offer or try the telegraph offer.

Good Luck

If you haven't got a current subscription, then you are a new member when you re-join.

Sandra

The only way to take the 50% offer through this option is to use a new account. I am unable to get this offer when I click the link, as it then requires me to sign in and then takes me straight to the homepage with no offers. If I created a new, separate account, I could no doubt get the 50% offer.

I downloaded this link as an html file as per previous post, but because of circumstances have not used it.  I have just tried it and it takes me to the page with 50% discount. on either uk or worldwide. When I click on the "get started" button it takes me to the login page.  If I login, it takes me to the payment page and the offer appears to be still available.  I can't post the link as it is just a html link to my desktop.

Thank you for the confirmation the original is still working by using your systems Gan Yam and Isabel H.    Sincerely hope this helps all RootsChatters who have been having problems this month.

Thank You
