However, I have noticed my 'green' leaf (for hints) is now red ???

To think people are being paid for all this nonsense too! They'd be better leaving alone what doesn't need fixed & reducing their subs  ::)

Annie

I got those last night. I assume that they want us to notice them as green must have failed.  There's no way of turning them off  :(

I have only just noticed the fact that the dot next to the green leaf on the toolbar has turned red.  However when clicking on it none of the hints themselves have a red dot - they continue to have a green dot.  Is it to signify a new hint do you think - rather like it used to vibrate on first view but perhaps now is just red.

Not sure if this is a glitch or not but the top bar is now black for me and notifications are in red. Maybe makes messages stand out more?

Last night I had the red notification too...then it became the more usual green, then back to red, then green!!!

I've just managed to turn the red off by looking at some trees that are not active!  The 'travel bureau'   Extra  remains red.

Yes I think if I look at the hints the red will disappear.  Don't get the hints for members' trees so it can't be that for me.

Yesterday and today, I've had 'red / green / red / green' and now back to red -- just waiting for AMBER so that I can proceed with caution!

Gadget,

I'm sure you've been a member of ancestry far longer than I which has been since 2005, it's only taken them at least 17 yrs to discover it's failed & leaves are no longer green (climate change) or is it autumn in the USA?  ;D

They'd be better employed to fix the 'message' problem as messages I've read often still show as unread.

I've said this before, I had far less computing skills 17 yrs ago & was able to navigate all our usual FH sites easily, nowadays it seems I need to learn basic computing skills for their sites or need a degree in computing ???

I hadn't known this thread about Ancestry's new layout existed until just now.

The new home page has been driving me nuts - also other alterations. Lots of my main photos against people had disappeared into 'media' and were ostensibly hidden from view.

However, I haven't had the hints issue which has just been described - mine have remained a constant green (unless of course I have now put the 'mockers' on that by saying so.)

Pheno,

I've just had a look at my leaf & there's been more changes!

My 100s of hints (which I've had no time to look at) have all disappeared with only a hint to my last added person, no vibration but still the green leaf.

Another thing there's no need to be messing with as we were all aware what the matches leaf was but it now seems the red is their new alert to our new matches  ::)

If it ain't broken, don't fix it!

What's infuriating for me is that there are bits of the site that needs fixed and they ignore it for cosmetic tinkering
