I watched the Richard Osman programme and was very disappointed.
I thought too much time was spent over what he wanted them to find.
At the start of the programme he said something like 'I'd rather find a pirate than a duke' and they obligingly found a smuggler for him.
The he said he was very interested in crime (being apparently a 'crime writer'  :-\ ) so they found an ancestor who had found a body, and then spent far too long over the court case.

For myself I found the Sue Perkins and Matt Lucas programmes the best of the bunch.

I found the Ralf Little episode interesting, as I have a relative who was based at Scapa Flow in WWI, served on a net vessel called Trust On, but was discharged and unfortunately died of meningitis in April 1919, before the Germans scuttled their ships on 21 June 1919.

We (hubby too) so enjoyed the Ralf Little programme even though we were both unsure as to who he was. He came across as just a genuine guy and appeared to be himself throughout the programme- no over the top acting for the camera.
We laughed out loud several times and both of us said " it was a breath of fresh air".
No wonder daughter-in-law can't resist watching "Death in Paradise"!

You might have seen him holding the Welsh Cup.  Here's a photo of Great Uncle holding it
