HI carol

The death I have is from the Non Conformist and Non Parochial Register - Alexander Tilley, 55, Burial 15 Jan 1866 Hackney. Gives a birth date of 1811 but 1851 and 1861 cesus record give variations between 1807 - 1810.

Poor Law records also have him at around 1807 to 1808.

Second comment may possibly be a father, seems to be a family name of Alexander as his first son was also given that name - worth a look! Thank you  :)

Yes, that's him (to the best of my knowledge!). Have the census and if I have things correctly his wife died the year before (1860) and his older children had all left. The later children all seem to have died in infancy.

I couldn't find a death either so have to assume it was the same year I suppose.

Whilst they seem to have had all their children baptized, there's nothing for him in terms of birth - same for his wife. Whilst I have the 1851 and 61 census, again, can't find anything for 1841. Complete mystery!! ??? ???

No - the burial register has the wrong year.  There is a burial for a 17yr old Walter Henry Turner on the same page showing a burial on 13.1.1866 but he died March qtr 1867.  Think they forgot to acknowledge the New Year hence 1866 when it should be 1867
