Hi Elan,

I just waited for the search bar to open on the Archives NZ Home page and then searched for 'intention to marry 1825' for the first one. You should be able to do it too without needing RealMe.

Be aware that Archives have divided the Registers for those years up into regions.

Hi Spades me again
So unbeknown to me even if I register or have a Realme ID I cannot gain access to the - nitty gritty of what I want - to Archives Collection - Intention to Marry- unless I pay or ask a favour. The collection archive Website takes sooo long to access its like trying to access it in the third world. Anyways I got a reply from my request and for the life of me cant even get in to ask for a researcher and pay. Any tips???

Hi Elan,

RealMe gets you access to the Reading Rooms once you've ordered a file, and also allows you to pay for a fiel to be digitized.

I see that the Collections search function is currently out of service.

Once it's online again I suggest you click on the links I added above: can you see the file descriptions?

I think that even without RealMe you should be able to search Archives for files, for example go to their webpage, wait about ten seconds for the search bar to open and then search for 'intention to marry 1867' and see what results you get.

I hope this helps.

I'm still learning how this all works in practice so once I've been in a few more times I'll have some better advice for everyone.

Thank you Spades.
I did find what I wanted through Realme I ordered 2 ITMs on my registration page. In fact i had to keep returning to order again as once I got to the payment page and entered my details it kept coming up error please contact ra ra. So. I contact. Evidently all my tries had been accepted payment wise and now Archives owes me $$$$$$. A glitch of their system evidently.
