Maybe she actually died across the river in North Dakota.  Perhaps the nearest hospital was in, say, Grafton, ND.

That's a good idea to look into, I just noticed how close they were to the state line. I did actually search the ND death records as well - but that search engine is harder to use than the Minnesota one!

Here it is - I just found it in North Dakota with a spelling error. Now, do I have to order it to see a full copy?

Ancestry has North Dakota death certificates but I don't have a subscription.

So I found the record on Ancestry with the new spelling...but the cause of death is blanked out. Can anyone shed light on why this is? Thank you!

Check some other certificates.  Are they all like that?

Check some other certificates.  Are they all like that?

The three before and after hers all had the cause of death blanked out. I didn't look at any more.
