Robert Walker b. 21 Feb 1607 Manchester
« on: Tuesday 03 May 22 00:15 BST (UK) »
I've looked for a marriage record for Robert and his wife Sarah ( poss: Leager) in Manchester before 1630 on the Manchester Cathedral records but didn't find anything listed. They departed Yarmouth on the Winthrop, April 8th, 1630 to Boston, MA. The ship's manifest says Walker, Robert/ Manchester / Boston Walker, Mrs Sarah. So I'm thinking that they were married before leaving Manchester. Is there another church local to Higher Ardwick that they might go to instead? I've checked the entire book for Walkers and have only found a few listings but not for them.

quote from the revised pedigree of Jacob Leager family
Perhaps, Sarah born ca 1610-17,d at Boston 21st December 1695,
m in New England about 1635 ,Robert Walker of Boston, perhaps the son of Thomas Walker of Higher Ardwick in the parish of Manchester co Lancaster, linen weaver by his wife Margaret Bardsley,Thomas and Margaret Walker had a son Robert bap Manchester 21st Feb 1607.8 and there is reason to believe that he is identical with the Robert Walker linen weaver or linen Webster who was in Boston by 1631 ,Robert Walker linen weaver was a member of the church of Boston in 1631/32 and became a freeman 14th May 1634and a cow keeper in 1638,he was aged 72  by deposition on 10th of April 1679 and died Boston 29th May 1687 and was buried there 21st May 1687,
Letters of administration were granted 17 August 1687to his widow Sarah Walker ,they had 12 children, the reason for thinking Sarah walker was the sister of Jacob Leager is that he made generous provision for three of the children of Robert and Sarah Walker in his will, though he did not state that the children were his relatives ,
his sister Marie was in England ,
