Could try the ORB to see if they retained a copy in the appendices.

For each intake there were several squadrons, each with several lettered flights (not squadrons or flights in the usual operational unit usage - more an admin way of dividing up large intakes into manageable groups). That amounts to a considerable archive and they may not have made it to preservation.

Keith- are you looking for just a photo, or additional info regarding this squadron?
For photos, the IBCC in Lincoln have some No 4 Squadron trainee group photos. Perhaps they can assist you with any archive photos relating to No 17 ITW 1942, if one exists.

Examples of group photos:

No 4 Squadron, C Flight, No 8 Initial Training Wing https://ibccdigitalarchive.lincoln.ac.uk/omeka/collections/document/26859

No 4 Squadron, A Flight, No 6 Initial Training Wing https://ibccdigitalarchive.lincoln.ac.uk/omeka/collections/document/18176

No 4 Squadron, No 10 Initial Training Wing

In that case, perhaps the IBCC will have No 4 Squadron general info, as well. Might be worth an email to them, especially in regards to a photo. Also, there may be some info on Google....

Two photos for No 17 ITW on the above, but they're connected to No 3 Squadron. Good info, though.

"No 17 ITW was formed on 13 October 1941 at Belvedere House, Esplanade, Scarborough and disbanded on 4 October 1944".
