Betty JOLLEY - Robertsbridge 1937
« on: Thursday 21 April 22 11:21 BST (UK) »
Can somebody help me please?

I am looking into aspects of the life of Edward Charles (Charlie) Willmer, he was a friend of my father: George Alfred Willard before and during the Second World War.

Charlie Willmer was involved in the 1930s with the Robertsbridge Gymnastics Club, with the assistance of Samson Crittenden and H. Wood taught Boys and Girls Gymnastics.

In 1937 a display was given by Girls at the Mission Hall in Robertsbridge, one member: Betty Jolley was presented with a Cup as being the Best All-rounder.

Does anybody have knowledge of Bety Jolley, this event or of the Gymnastic Club, it's Instructors and Members?

Thank you
Roy Willard

Have you looked for her on the 1939 register or for a birth/marriage.  Betty is often an abbreviation of Elizabeth

Hi,

Could this lady be the one you are looking for?

There is a private tree relating to a Gladys Betty Jolley who was born in Ticehurst, Sussex in 1925 and died in 2019. You could contact the tree owner to find out more, if you are a member of Ancestry.
