While i have a tree on ancestry (and others i have researched) i use family historian. One off purchase, you can have free trial (i tried half a dozen before settling on FH), free updates until the next version comes out. You can create a large number of reports, or books, and even a website if interested. Highly recommended.

What operating system do you have on your computer? Windows 7 after there up dates yesterday will not download my gedcome file its stuck and has been for must be 24 hours. They say I need windows10.

Support for Windows 7 ended i believe in 2020, so maybe that’s why. I’m on windows 10

I was given a link to email Ancestry so I emailed them explaining the problems I was having in downloading my gedcom file. They sent me a very nice reply and said it had been fixed and it was due to the new updates, they have included this. An offer for me of 6 months free time of UK premium subscription. Very nice indeed.

Tribalpages.....excellent! Photos, documents etc. If you only have a smallish tree and not too many pics it's free, but the larger size is still very reasonable
