William McLaren
« on: Wednesday 30 March 22 00:32 BST (UK) »
Hi I am new on this group. I am trying to trace a William McLaren that would have been born around 1845 (give or take 10 years) in the Perth area although I do not know that for sure. All I have is a picture to go by so I am hoping someone has seen the attached pic and can give me some information on the gentleman (my great great grandfather)

Hi

Impossible to trace from a photograph.  If he was your g/g/grandfather - who did he marry?  When & where?

What were their childrens names?

If he remained in Scotland - have you looked for him on any of the Scottish censuses to establish his birthyear & birthplace?

If he died in Scotland - when & where?  He clearly died after 1855 so if you download a copy of his Scottish death cert it will give you both his parents names plus his mothers maiden name
