Immigration record has his birth as Ireland with mention of the three children mentioned on the 1921 census

There is also another Andrew Ferrie in Canada born Paisley probably the birth you found
aghadowey 1869

Alice Ferrie, daughter of Anthony Ferrie (deceased, born _ Ireland) & Mary McBride (born Glasgow, Scotland), m.1923-
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JD89-RG4

Unfortunately Andrew Ferrie's death certificate doesn't list parents- age given as 48 in 1918 (born c1870) but gravestone says 1860-

Thank you
I have the information on Andrew’s family once they arrived in Canada. Andrew died of the Spanish flu in 1918. He worked the mine in Trail, BC.
I will look for the missing child for my records thru the church.

The marriage certificate does state his parents and his birth name could have been Anthony. I know names were often changed or shortened. My grandmother was Catherine McBride but her records all state Kate.

It would probably have made things easier if you told us all the details you already had found. Yes, nicknames (like Kate for Catherine) aren't uncommon but Anthony/Andrew for the same person is not. However, maternal grandfather was Anthony.

Let's start with a possible birthdate. Luckily parents married in 1864 so he was likely born after registration of births. From Canada we now have two different years- 1860 and 1870. What ages was he in Scottish records?

I have seen the grave markers but all other documents point to a 1870 / 1871 birth. Passenger list for immigration in 1913 says 42 yrs. 1901 census in Scotland says 30 yrs.

I think 1870/71 is the closest.
