Mary Broscom, born 1736 and Mary Elsworth, born 1766
« on: Tuesday 22 March 22 11:21 GMT (UK) »
Mary Broscom was born in 1736 in Batley. In 1758 she married John Elsworth, in Birstall. One of their numerous children was Mary, born 1766, in Birstall. In the records for the death of Mary Elsworth in Birstall, there is an entry for 1790 and another for 1793.
Is there somebody out there who knows which death refers to which Mary.
Thank you

Hello Peter - just thought I would poke my nose in to say that I have a Martha Jane Broscombe b. 1836 in Adwalton, Birstall Parish, in my family tree.

It's quite an unusual name and I just wondered if she was in your tree also! She was the 2nd wife of my 2 x Gt Grandfather, William Marshall.

I haven't researched her backwards as she is not my direct ancestor. She died in Morecambe Lancs in 1919 - the family moved and ran a Guest House there.

It isn't a name I had come across before or after (until now!)

Thank you for your comments, Pennines. Yes I have both in my family tree but the Broscombe without the e. If you would like to take this further I would be pleased to help.
Broscombe family has been quite hard to research because of the over 20 variations  of the name I have come across

Thank you for replying Peter.

I am SO sorry for intruding on your original query - and I do hope it doesn't stop other Rootschatters from responding to that.

I will send you a pm.
