Yeah, still gathering onfo for them of course but Catherines father was a shoemaker/cordwainer and so was her uncle, family trade by the looks of it. In 1851 Robert was then a carter and in 61 when they moved to Sutton he was a farmworker (probably carter) there also. I think I will send for the civil record of Catherine's birth and see what it says there. It must be the correct girl though, she married a man who was born in Preston and this combination of names and birthplaces is not usual in the town they settled. It stands out, for those parents to move there with that daughter, it's the only way they could have met because her husband was never in Ormskirk.
The marriage of her parents Robert/ Jane, he a cordwainer was at Holy Trinity, Liverpool, his father a joiner, her father was a painter, she was from Liverpool and he Ormskirk although living in Liverpool then.
