There was a Catherine ANN Howard b. 3 Sept 1844, who was baptised 6th April 1845 at Lowestoft in Suffolk = could that possibly have been the lass? Parents given there as Robert and Jne.
TY
Threlfall (Southport), Isherwood (lancs & Canada), Newbould + Topliss(Derby), Keating & Cummins (Ireland + lancs), Fisher, Strong& Casson (all Cumberland) & Downie & Bowie, Linlithgow area Scotland . Also interested in Leigh& Burrows,(Lancashire) Griffiths (Shropshire & lancs), Leaver (Lancs/Yorks) & Anderson(Cumberland and very elusive)

Just for information
1851 2197 /341 /17
Catharine Howard 7 yrs b Ormskirk with parents Robert (b Ormskirk) and Jane. (b Liverpool).
1861 she is Catherine.
GRO has this birth
1843 June quarter Ormskirk - Catherine Howard mmn McKenrie
I suppose that surname could be spelled wrongly - McKenzie /McHenry maybe

Yes, Heywood I get those two spelling for mother too. I hope the baptism will tell me which is true. Wonder why there's a gap in records, perhaps their history group can tell me. I'll let you know.
Some places she's Catharine and some Catherine.
and no not Suffolk, Ormskirk then St Helens, Lancashire only
Thanks everyone anyway

If the spelling is in Latin it might be different again.
It is probably just an interpretation by whoever wrote it down at the time.
Do you have a marriage for her parents?

I see there is another candidate for Catherine b Ormskirk - Cathrine with mmn Anderson
There is a marriage for Robert Howard and Jane Anderson (nee Garner)
This Robert is a Cordwainer in 1844.
