James...Going off a slight tangent, would you have any idea if your Edwards are related to an Edward Edwards born c1805 Broughton, a Collier. I suspect he married a Mary Griffiths in 1827.

I know it's a not uncommon name in the area, but you never know.

Many thanks, Eric.

Eric

So far I've not come across an Edward Edwards born c 1805 Broughton when researching my family. As the previous posts show the father of my Peter Edwards born 1822 Llanarmon Yn Yale, Denbighshire was also called Peter Edwards and was a farmer (as shown on son Peter's marriage record). There is a possible baptism on the 1 June 1822 baptism in Llanarmon by a Peter and Sarah Edwards but this shows his father was a grocer, not farmer. No other suspects though.  I have found researching Welsh surnames particularly frustrating but perhaps that's all part of the fun !?  If I do come across your chap I'll flag it up on this post.

Many thanks for getting back. It was just a long shot as I'm also finding them rather frustrating and hitting brick wall after brick wall. The ones I'm looking at seemed to work underground while yours seemed to be overground.

Regards, Eric.
