There is a possible marriage for brother - Terence Peter Greenan - Isabella Peters.
1922 - 685/9 56 - Portobello.

Could be three children born to this couple:-

Mary Christie Greenan born 1923 and a marriage to William Patter Braidwood.
marriage - Mary Christie A Greenan - William Patters Braidwood - 1947
685/6 13 - Newington

Helen Greenan - 1928

Rose Ann Charlotte Greenan - married James Baker - perhaps two sons and a daughter to this marriage.

Might be a family tree which could help. Message sent.
One tree is not accepting messages, fingers crossed for the other one.

Barbara Greenan nee Clark died on 21st September 1969 at Deaconess Hospital, Edinburgh. Widow of James Greenan, Masons Labourer.

Her death was registered by her grandaughter - signature looks like C. Arnott.

I have downloaded a copy of her Death Certificate.

Will see if I can trace who C. Arnott's parents were.

I now have the information on who the C. Arnott was. Although it may not be of much help unfortunately.

The 1st Child listed on the WW1 Pension Record for James Greenan's was Isabella.
Isabella was not James' child she was born to his wife Barbara Clark in 1901 and was illigitimate. There is an RCE in 1902 naming her father as a Hugh Cassiday. James and Barbara married in 1906.

On the 1911 Census she is listed as Isabella Greenan so obviously James accepted her along with his own children. They are living at Adelphi Place, Portobello, Edinburgh.

Isabella married a James McKinsley on 16/7/1920 under the name of Isabella Cassiday Clark. No father is listed but her mother is given as Barbara Clark subsequently married to James Greenan (Deceased.) Isabella died in 1972.

One of their children was Catherine McKinsley born in 1927 and she married an Alexander Arnott in 1946. She died in 1988. This is the grandaughter who registered Barbara Clark/Greenan's death in 1969.

Hi Dorrie,

Thank you for the research you have carried out re the Greenan family.

Sadly, because Isabella was Barbara's child before her marriage to James Greenan, she would not be considered to be a near enough relative for CWGC purposes.  :-\

I have a relative from the Terence Greenan line who has just contacted me but I'm not sure this line will be nearer enough - it comes from a Isabella Peters line by marriage.  :-\

Thank you once again
Regards
Sandra
