American Records
« on: Sunday 06 March 22 07:44 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I'm trying to obtain a copy death certificate of my Great Grandfather who died in New York 1962.

Can anyone tell me the best way of obtaining a copy certificate to be sent to the UK.

Thanks

You need to contact Vital Records at New York State.
Try: https://www.health.ny.gov/vital_records/

Or the equivalent at New York City:

Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

You need to contact Vital Records at New York State.
Try: https://www.health.ny.gov/vital_records/

If you use this link, you will be waiting over 2 years to get your record.  If you have an exact location of the death, contact the town or city clerk there to see about ordering.
