Ordering Copy Death Certificate
« on: Sunday 06 March 22 07:11 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I'm trying to obtain a copy death certificate of my Great Grandfather who died in New York 1962.

Can anyone tell me the best way of obtaining a copy certificate to be sent to the UK.

Thanks

Where in New York?  New York City keeps its vital records separately from New York state, so the procedure would differ based on the location.  Also, if he died outside of New York City, it is best to order from the town/city where the death occurred if possible, because otherwise the wait for genealogical records from New York state is currently 2+ years.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
