Humphrey Warren 1754 - 1836 (Will)
« on: Wednesday 02 March 22 11:18 GMT (UK) »
Hi Rootschatters,

I found that my above 4 x Ggrandfather left a will in 1836.  It is listed at Staffordshire, Diocese of Lichfield & Coventry Wills & Probate 1521 - 1860.   I found this on Find my Past but there wasn't an available image.

Can anyone advise how I would get a copy.

Thanks in advance,

Hello
It's a matter of fiddling around with Find my Past
I found Humphery Warren farmer of Longdon  Admin 1807 £300 or less Probate 1836
14 Aug 1807 Marry Warren the widow appeared and said her husband had died upwards of 14 days ago intestate.
By the 20th it had gone up to £500 and she was joined by Thomas Brown and Richard Warren farmers.

That's it.Not sure why it's dated 1836 when the documents thenselves are 1807.
For what it's worth Humphrey died suddenly according to the burial register aged 55 and was buried 2 Aug 1807
Richard mentioned on the probate hung himself in his barn and was buried 11.11.1807 .Verdict Lunacy
It would be interesting to know who Richard was and how they were related.

It's one of the longest wills I've ever seen (7 pages). Written in 1835 so it's not the admin that ciderdrinker found.

Look at the right hand side of the screen and you should see an arrow >

Click on it to see the next related image. Keep going until you've viewed all the pages.

Or look at the filmstrip and click on each image in turn.
