Howard family from County Laois

My 2 Grandmother, Ellen Howard, was born in Clonaslee around 1834 and I have been unable to verify any information on her via birth/baptismal records. She married James Holahan, who may also have been from Clonaslee and again I have not been able to find any record of their marriage. Would there be any local sources that I could explore that might help me discover the information I seek? Any advise is deeply appreciated, as I have been researching these ancestors for many years.

What's your source for Ellen's birthplace?

My ancestors were Roman Catholic. Ellen was born around 1834 in Clonaslee according to her obituary. I have found two Howard and and two Holahan family's in Clonaslee in Griffiths Valuation.

Wouldn't get too hung up on birth years as from experience they can vary greatly from reality .
