French electoral roll or Phone book
« on: Friday 04 February 22 18:46 GMT (UK) »
Trying to find out more information about
Suzanne Louise Aimee Alexandre 1896–1980
BIRTH 21 DECEMBER 1896 • Rouen, Seine-Maritime, Haute-Normandie, France
DEATH 11 AVRIL 1980 • Buchy, Seine-Maritime, France
Married and Englishman in Rouen during WW1 - moved to Birmingham England to live with him until 1950ish. Then no trace in UK of them- can't find his death in UK. She died in Buchy in 1980- death cert states she is a widow, I cannot find out what happened between them being both at an address in Birmingham in 1950 and then her death in 1980. Got her birth cert, their marriage cert and lots of reference to them in Birmingham until 1950 then nothing!
Anyone any ideas how I can find anything else to help find when they left the UK and when and where her husband Charles Edwin Whiting died?  French death certificates online have to be searched by year and are not indexed yet.
Any ideas gratefully appreciated.

Phone books can be read here , but nothing on line

https://bnf.libguides.com/annuaire_telephone

Electoral rolls can be consulted if older than 50 years , but it is intricate and not on line.

Thanks for the response to my question. I am really trying to think how I can find out anything more about Suzanne and Charles.
Susanne's death was notified by a relative- whose name was Jean Claude Bertin. He was 42 at the time of her death in 1980. He lived at Grande Rue a Buchy and was an "aubergiste".
I wondered if there was any information about him that would help me with my search?

Sorry but this person could still be alive, being born around 1938.
How do you know he was a relative , what is written precisely on the certificate?

The death certificate states that he's a cousin.
I realised that he could still be alive but can't find anything out about him.
Thanks

A long shot, but have you looked in the "UK, Foreign and Overseas Register of British Subjects 1628-1969"

I had an English relative die in Nice, and the register contained a copy of the notification of her death that was sent from France back to the Foreign Office.

I have got their marriage certificate, do you want it or do you already have it?
