I am looking to try and find the records of some 3rd Cousins once removed on my family tree!!
They are the many children of John McMorran , born 1851 in Libberton in Lanarkshire and died 3 jun
1912 in Biggar and Jane Black Sanderson,1854 to 1930
Marion Purdie McMorran 1875 to 1941 ; Thomas 1876 to 1946 ; Adam 1878 to 1945; James 1880 to 1960 ; Elizabeth Smith 1882 to 1961 ; Grace Sanderson 1884 to 1942 ; John 1886 to ?  ; Jane Sanderson 1887 to ? ; Janet Lamb McMorran 1889 to 1977 : David Sanderson McMorran 1891 to 1980 : Ann (ie) Sanderson McMorran 1893 to ? ; Robert 1894 to 1960 ; Margaret 1895 to ? and George Sanderson 1898 to 1917 in Belgium.

I think most stayed in and around Bigger, and surrounds , but any help in finding those who may have moved and died in other parts of the country would be very much appreciated.

Hi there, I'm connnected to this line of McMorrans but through a brother of John McMorran who married Jean Black Sanderson, my Gt. Gt grandfather was Alexander McMorran who married Mary Stark and son of James McMorran and Janet Lamb who are buried at Libberton churchyard. I live in Biggar.

Hi Flintgirl
I am a little bit lost as far as the different generations are concerned.
I have a transcription of a Monumental inscription in Libberton Burial Ground
about James McMorran who died 13 Feb 1877 age 81 and his wife Janet Lamb who died 12 March 1889 age 91.
Along with his youngest daughter Agnes who die 27 January 1918 age 80
James his Grandson, and son of Ebenezer McMorran, Builder died in Glasgow 6 January 1906 age 43.
his grandson Henry McMorran who dies 3 April 1914 age 44 and daughter Janet McMorran Mitchell who died in Johannesburg 17 July 1942 age 84.
You probably have all that detail, living locally in Biggar, which I pass on my way from here to Edinburgh to visit family.
Perhaps we could exchange emails and continue this thread by personal email?

Birth place Liberton
Confusingly, there are two parishes with very similar names.

Liberton in Midlothian is now a suburb of Edinburgh
https://stataccscot.edina.ac.uk/static/statacc/dist/parish/Edinburgh/Liberton

Libberton In Lanarkshire is just north and west of Biggar
https://stataccscot.edina.ac.uk/static/statacc/dist/parish/Lanark/Libberton%20and%20Quothquan

Make sure you don't get them mixed up!
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
